Don’t argue, please, dear searcher
gaze intent on morning,
gripping midnight in your hands.
Stop struggling, please, dear wisher,
fighting no one but yourself
in this endeavor just to win
to win without wanting,
hurting,
or tears.
You’ve had enough of tears.
Those loved are hard to leave
and though running would be smarter,
familiar holds you still.
Don’t argue, please,
little aching seeker,
just pretend it’s slippery…
…and let it drift away.
